Under limited supervision, instructs students toward GED test preparation practice/employment through the study of general studies coursework.

Prepares and presents course descriptions, lesson plans and classroom lectures; implements techniques to facilitate student active learning; prepares and grades tests and quizzes; develops handouts and other learning aids; participates in program and curriculum development, outcome assessments and scheduling tutors as assigned.
Provides one-to-one student supervision and/or counseling, advising and tutoring; analyzes and documents student progress; participates in student recruitment, retention and placement efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of adult learning theory, curriculum development and classroom and field presentation techniques.
Knowledge of counseling and advising methods and techniques.
Knowledge of research methodology and information resources related to designated field of general studies.
Knowledge of basic supervisory and coaching principles and practices.
Skill in performing work related to designated field of general studies.
Skill in supervising students in work experience settings.
Skill in preparing and presenting classroom lectures.
Skill in the use of standard office equipment, including personal computer and standard office software.
Must have a valid New Mexico Drivers License. Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the assigned subject(s) of mathematics, language arts, social studies, science and general studies, and three (3) years of teaching or practicing experience in the designated field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary is based on the LCC salary schedule and is commensurate with education and occupational-related experience. Standard LCC benefits apply.
Salary $15.00/ hour
Work days: Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
