Duties and responsibilities:

Definition: Under general supervision, performs a variety of office support duties related to a work unit.
Essential Functions: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act may include, but are not limited to the following characteristics, duties, responsibilities, knowledge, skills and other characteristics.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Provides a variety of office services in support of program functions; provides information; establishes and maintains office filing systems; schedules appointments and meetings for others; takes minutes and prepares appropriate follow-up materials; makes travel arrangements. Assists with tracking budget balances, conducts procurement process, assist Director with operations.

Serves as primary resource to assist students, staff, faculty and various departmental personnel in resolving procedural problems related to the specialized function; responds to technical questions, ensuring necessary follow up is performed.
Prepares and maintains a variety of records requiring classification and compilation of varied information; identifies sources and extracts necessary information; performs specialized calculations and data entry; reviews reports and printouts to identify and trace source of error and make necessary corrections.
Performs technical or complex verification and reconciliation activities; maintains/oversees the preservation of program files and/or data base; responds to technical questions ensuring necessary follow up is performed.

Checks, reviews or prepares records, reports, forms or various other documents pertinent to assigned function(s); plans and prioritizes workload to meet set deadlines. Prepares correspondence, staffs program reports, and distributes correspondence via e-mail, fax, mail, and other media systems.

Other Duties as assigned: I.E. (Board Meetings, Committees, Trainings, and Interviews).

Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of general office support practices and procedures.
Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
Knowledge of a variety of computer software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge of records processing and maintenance procedures and systems.
Knowledge of college policies, procedures, and supporting state and federal laws or mandates.
Skill in English composition, grammar and punctuation.
Skill in composing letters and preparing a variety of reports, using appropriate format and computer software.
Skill in basic math and cash receipting.
Skill in basic bookkeeping practices and procedures.
Skill in designing and maintaining filing/records systems.
Skill in following oral and written instructions and procedures.
Skill in operating typical office equipment, including personal computer and standard office computer programs.
Skill in communicating orally and in writing.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees and the public.

Working Conditions: Typical office environment.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Associates Degree with (3) years of office support experience. Knowledge of computer software, including word-processing, database, and spreadsheet applications required. Must have a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.

Salary:

Salary is based on the LCC salary schedule and is commensurate with education and occupational-related experience. Standard LCC benefits apply.

Salary Range 22 ($22,611 to $27,563)
