Welcome to the Luna Community College Department of Government & Community Relations. Our office serves as the vital bridge connecting LCC with our state leaders, educational regulatory bodies, local municipalities, and the diverse communities we proudly serve.
Our mission is to advocate for the advancement of Luna Community College, foster strategic regional partnerships, and share the inspiring stories of our students, faculty, and staff through comprehensive marketing and media initiatives.
Our Strategic Core Areas
The Department of Government & Community Relations oversees three primary branches of institutional advancement:
Legislative & Government Affairs
We manage the college's relationship with the New Mexico State Government and the New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED). Our office advocates for institutional funding, capital outlay projects, and policy initiatives during the legislative sessions to ensure LCC has the resources necessary to deliver premier workforce training and academic programs.
Community Relations & Partnerships
Luna is deeply rooted in northeastern New Mexico. We work closely with local businesses, school districts, civic organizations, and economic development groups to build collaborative partnerships. We aim to align college resources with community needs, supporting regional growth and creating seamless pathways from education to local employment.
Institutional Marketing & Media Relations
Our creative team manages the public face and voice of Luna Community College. We handle all institutional branding, advertising campaigns, social media management, graphic design, and video production. We are also the primary point of contact for the press, distributing official news releases, managing crisis communications, and promoting campus events.
Media & Public Inquiries
Members of the press, community organizations looking to partner with LCC, or businesses seeking marketing collaborations should direct all inquiries to our central office.
