Purpose Statement
The mission of the Luna Community College Instructional Technology/Distance Education (IT/DE) Committee is to provide strategic oversight and guidance for the college’s instructional technology infrastructure and distance education offerings. We work collaboratively to recommend policies, promote best practices, and ensure the effective, secure, and sustainable use of technology to support the institution’s academic and administrative goals.
Objectives
- Support the Distance Education coordinator’s continued efforts on the Quality Initiative for Distance Education (QIDE) project.
- Prepare faculty to teach online courses using the Quality Matters framework for online course design and to effectively utilize instructional technology for teaching.
- Develop a sustainment plan for instructional technology.
Meetings
The IT/DE Committee will be meeting on the second Friday of the Month at 8:00 AM and as needed. Meetings will be held virtually. Meeting times may change based on members availability.
