Pay Range: $550 to $650 per credit hour

Duties and responsibilities:

Prepares and presents course materials and classroom lectures; implements techniques to facilitate students’ active learning; design, implement, and assess student learning based on stated course learning objectives. Participates in program and curriculum development and outcome assessments; participates in scheduling tutors.

Provides one-to-one student supervision and/or tutoring; analyzes and documents student progress; participates in student recruitment, retention and placement efforts.

Maintain currency in designated field(s) of education and related studies; establishes and maintains linkages with appropriate external resources and other contacts; participates on assigned committees and in professional development workshops and conferences.

Oversees and/or coordinates a discrete program or function supportive to the delivery of academic instruction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

Knowledge of adult learning theory, curriculum development and classroom and field presentation techniques.

Knowledge of research methodology and information resources related to designated field(s) of education and related discipline.
Knowledge of basic supervisory principles and practices.
Skill in performing work related to designated field(s) of education.
Skill in supervising students in work experience settings.
Skill in preparing and presenting classroom lectures.
Skill in the use of standard office equipment, including personal computer and standard office software.

Qualifications:

Must have a valid New Mexico Drivers License. Master’s or Doctoral degree in a field directly related to the assigned subject(s) of education and three (3) years of teaching or practicing experience in the designated field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary:

Salary is based on the LCC salary schedule and is commensurate with education and occupational-related experience. Standard LCC benefits apply.
