Position Overview
PAY GRADE: $22 per hour
This position instructs students toward practice/employment in a designed field of career and technical education studies.
Essential Job Functions
• Prepares and presents behind the wheel instruction.
• Implements techniques to facilitate student active learning.
• Participates in program and curriculum development and outcome assessments.
• Provides one-to-one student supervision, advising and tutoring; analyzes and documents student progress.
• Operates equipment and performs work related to LCC Contract Education.
• Assists in coordinating student schedules as appropriate.
• Participates in student recruitment, retention and placement efforts.
• Participates in professional development workshops and conferences.
• Performs all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Follows all DOT regulations, guidelines and policies.
• Immediately reports any and all safety hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Adult learning theory, curriculum development and classroom, laboratory and field presentation techniques
• Advising methods and techniques
• Knowledge of basic supervisory and coaching principles and practices
• Ability to supervise students in work experience settings
• Ability to prepare and present classroom lectures and laboratory work
• Ability to maintain professional conduct at all times
• Ability to pass a pre-employment road test and drug test
Work Environment and Physical Factors
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The worker stands at least 70 percent of the time.
• The worker is required to work 4- hour training sessions (shifts may include morning, afternoon, evening and weekends).
• The worker may be substantially exposed to adverse weather conditions.
• Assignments are based on enrollment and availability of equipment.
• The worker is required to authorize LCC to complete a background check.
Education, Experience and Licenses
• A valid New Mexico Class A CDL Driver’s License and current medical card is required.
• At least two (2) years of practical driving experience is required.
• Must provide a current driving record.
