Sean Cobos enjoying his time at Luna

Sean Cobos has been taking automotive classes at Luna Community College the last four semesters. The Ribera, N.M. native will be graduating from Pecos High School later this month.

“I love the classes here,” says Cobos. “I like working on vehicles. To me it’s fun. We all get along here.”

Student Sean Cobos discusses the importance of cleaning parts before engine reassembly with Paul Vance, instructor.

Cobos, who earned a certificate of completion in one automotive area, says he intends to continue attending Luna in the fall semester.

“I learned a lot on engine performance,” says Cobos. “I know a lot about electrical, brakes and steering suspension. I hope to open my own shop one day.”

Cobos has driven himself to Luna’s main campus twice a week.

“It’s been pretty amazing here,” says Cobos. “I definitely recommend Luna to other students. My instructors Gene Sandoval and Paul Vance have been great. I’ve learned a lot from them.”
