Luna Community College and New Mexico Highlands University Partner to Support Student Housing for Upcoming Academic Year

News Release

LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Luna Community College and New Mexico Highlands University have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for the upcoming academic year to support student housing opportunities for Luna students.

The agreement reflects the continued collaboration between two Las Vegas higher education institutions and their shared commitment to serving students, families, and the broader
community. Through the MOA, eligible Luna students will have access to housing at New Mexico Highlands University during the academic year.

In support of the agreement, Luna Community College has developed a student housing contract that will serve as the framework for participating Luna students to pay Luna for housing provided through New Mexico Highlands University. The contract outlines student responsibilities, payment expectations, and participation requirements.

“This agreement reflects the importance of collaboration between our local institutions,” said Luna Community College President Dr. Carol Linder. “Luna and New Mexico Highlands
University each play a vital role in serving students and strengthening educational opportunities in Las Vegas and northeastern New Mexico. We appreciate this partnership and the shared commitment to supporting our students.”

“New Mexico Highlands University values opportunities to work alongside Luna Community College in support of students and our community,” said NMHU Interim President Dr. Kimberly J. Blea. “This agreement reflects the strong relationship between our institutions and our shared interest in helping students access the support they need to pursue their educational goals.”

The two institutions continue to work together to drive student success and elevate higher education in the region. The partnership serves local communities, students throughout New Mexico, and those moving to the region for school.
