Candidates file for Luna board

November ballot set
Twenty-one candidates are seeking election to the Luna Community College Board of Trustees in November’s regular local election.
The candidates filed to run on Tuesday, Aug. 27, the lone filing date for school boards. All seven seats on the Luna board are up for election on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Those in districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 are for full six-year terms. Those in districts 2, 4 and 6 are for two-year terms – serving the remainder of the terms vacated by trustees who resigned their positions and were replaced by appointees.

Incumbents Daniel J. Romero and Eugenio Perez IV did not file for re-election. Romero, who represents District 7, is the current chairman of the board. Perez represents District 4.
