Luna's Ortiz and Velasquez among NJCAA leaders

Luna softball player Angelica Ortiz continues to lead the National Junior College Athletic Association in RBI’s with 44. Ortiz is also tied for the national lead in home runs with 11 and is 28th in hitting average at .568. Elisha Velasquez is tied for 14th in home runs with five and is tied for 43rd in strikeouts with 28. Both Ortiz and Velasquez are sophomores from Albuquerque.

The Lady Rough Riders are scheduled to play Colorado Northwestern Community College at home on Saturday, Feb. 24 and on Sunday, Feb. 25. The Luna baseball team is scheduled to play Dodge City Community College in Kansas on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24.
