Luna’s Jose Villalobos receives Region 9 honors

Power hitter third in nation with 13 home runs

Jose Villalobos, an infielder from Luna Community College, was named Region 9 player of the week for March 6 to March 12. Villalobos was 8 for 17 (.471) with 2 doubles, 13 RBI’s, 6 R’s and 3 HR’s. This is the second time this season Villalobos has been named player of the week. As of last week, Luna was in second place in the Region 9 South baseball standings with an 8-6 conference record. Luna won four consecutive games on the road against Western Nebraska, recently.

Villalobos is also third in the National Junior College Athletic Association with 13 home runs on the year.
