Luna hosts over 100 fifth grade girls during a Girls Can event on Thursday, April 27th

Luna Community College Humanities Professor Dr. Billie Matthews tours her class during a Girls Can event on Thursday, April 27 at the college. Luna** hosted over 100 area fifth graders. Girls Can is an initiative of the American Association of University Women, (AAUW) Las Vegas Branch. Women who have gone on to success in various fields, especially those that do not traditionally seem as women’s careers, were the featured presenters. They had hands-on workshops and spoke to students about their experiences and the opportunities available through education and career pathways.
