Dr. MaryAnn Osuchowski to be guest speaker at 2024 Luna graduation
Osuchowski is a former Luna nursing graduate
MaryAnn Osuchowski PhD, FNP-BC will be Luna Community College’s 2024 graduation guest speaker. Luna’s graduation is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11 at the Media Education Center Auditorium.
Osuchowski was raised in Northern N.M., in the beautiful Mora Valley, and has called Las Vegas, N.M., her home for the past 30 years.
Dr. Osuchowski’s father was a nurse (graduated from Luna Community College) and instilled within her the love and respect for all living things, from a very young age; she naturally followed in his footsteps.
Dr. Osuchowski began her education in nursing, locally, and is a 1992 LPN graduate of Luna. She never left the community, and instead commuted to Albuquerque, to attend classes at the University of New Mexico, where she earned her Bachelors, Masters (Family Nurse Practitioner), and Doctorate degrees.
Dr. Osuchowski’s research interest stems from her love of Northern N.M., the people who reside here, and the rich and distinct culture. Dr. Osuchowski performs qualitative research investigating the cultural norms and beliefs that drive health behaviors, specific to Hispanic residents of Northern N.M. This research has been shared through publication in The Journal of Research in Nursing. Dr. Osuchowski continues her educational pursuits and is currently enrolled in a post-Doctorate program, studying psychiatry.
Dr. Osuchowski is the owner of and the sole provider at Your Health First Medical Clinic, located in Las Vegas, N.M. Dr. Osuchowski enjoys spending time with her daughters and grandson, in the moments she is free of study and work.
