Luna Community College will host a Regional Mathematics Convening

Las Vegas, N.M. — Luna Community College will host a Regional Mathematics Convening on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Media Education Center on its
campus in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

The convening will bring together school district leaders, mathematics educators, Luna faculty, and representatives from the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Math and Science Division. The event will focus on fostering collaboration and discussing strategies to strengthen mathematics education and support student success across the region.

“This gathering is an important opportunity for educators and leaders to come together, exchange ideas, and strengthen partnerships that support mathematics education,” said Dr. Henrietta Romero, Vice President of Instruction and Student Services at Luna Community College. “The conversations will help inform strategies that benefit students at every stage of their educational journey.”

Luna Community College continues to prioritize partnerships that support student success, workforce readiness, and regional educational advancement through initiatives like the Regional Mathematics Convening.
