Las Vegas, NM — Luna Community College invites employers, community members, and prospective students to attend the first annual LCC Skills & Solutions Expo on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Luna main campus.

Hosted by Luna’s Career and Technical Education and Workforce Development programs, the event will highlight the college’s hands-on training programs while creating direct connections between students and potential employers.

At the center of the event is a Reverse Job Fair, where graduating students will showcase their skills, portfolios, and real-world experience—giving employers the opportunity to engage
directly with talent and make hiring connections on the spot.

“Luna Community College is proud to open our doors and showcase the incredible talent of our students,” said Dr. Carol Linder, President of Luna Community College. “This expo reflects our commitment to workforce development by connecting education to real-world opportunity. Our students are gaining the skills needed today, and our local employers are essential partners in helping them succeed tomorrow.”

“Don’t just read a resume—see the skill,” is the theme of this year’s expo, emphasizing Luna’s focus on practical, career-ready education.

Attendees can expect:

  • Live demonstrations in student labs across programs such as Welding, Automotive Technology, Auto Collision, Cosmetology, Barbering, CDL/Heavy Equipment, and Culinary Arts
  • Direct access to student talent, with opportunities for employers to interview and recruit
  • Campus tours and program exploration for prospective students and families
  • Interactive simulations and technical displays showcasing real-world applications of LCC training

“This event is a powerful opportunity to bring together education, industry, and community,” said Karen Torres, Director of Career and Technical Education and Workforce Development. “Our students are ready to demonstrate their skills in real time, and employers can see firsthand the level of training and dedication that sets Luna graduates apart.”

The Skills & Solutions Expo is designed to serve multiple audiences; employers seeking skilled, job-ready candidates, students preparing to enter the workforce and community members exploring new career pathways or educational opportunities.

“The Skills & Solutions Expo offers a unique vantage point into our students’ capabilities in a way traditional career fairs simply cannot replicate, and we’re excited to see this first annual event take shape and grow into a signature event that continues to connect talent, industry, and opportunity for years to come,” said Dr. Henrietta Romero, Vice President of Instruction & Student Services.

The event is free and open to the public.
