Luna Humanities Professor Dr. Billie Mathews to present in Missouri Conference on History

Luna humanities professor Dr. Billie Mathews will present a paper at the 63rd Missouri Conference on History later this month.

“I will be presenting with Dr. Luke Ritter and other graduate students (at Highlands University) under the heading “Stories from the Santa Fe Trail: Migrants, Jews, and Painted Ladies”.
The title of my presentation is “‘Free Land’ for Missouri Families in Territorial New Mexico,” said Matthews.

Mathews has nine years teaching experience in higher education and 25 years as an educator in K-12. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Highlands, and master’s degree in curriculum and education from Highlands and a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction from New Mexico State University.
